iPhone losing headphone jack?
« on: January 19, 2016, 05:26:06 PM »
So I've been reading reports that the next iPhone could be losing its headphone jack and have some kind of wireless headphones.  Is this true?  Does that mean that all of our wired headphones suddenly are obsolete?

No one knows for sure yet but it looks likely.  Apparently they will offer some kind of adapter that allows wired headphones to still be used but going forward wireless earbuds will probably be sold as an option for use with iPhones.  As long as my old headphones can be used with some kind of adapter through the lightning port it makes sense I guess.  One of the reasons i've heard they're doing this is to make the phones thinner yet...but the iPhone is already pretty darn thin...not sure going thinner will make much of a difference to people.  i'd rather it have a bit of heft and better battery life personally.
